The results of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations-2019 under 10 education boards were published today with 82.20 percent pass rate.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni formally announced the results at a function at International Mother Language Institute at 11 am.
A total of 17,49,165 students passed the examinations under 10 education boards while some 1, 05,594 students got the highest Grade Point Average (GPA-5) with 4.96 average rate among the successful examinees, she said.
A total of 2,583 educational institutions obtained the 100 percent pass rate while 107 others got the zero percent pass rate, she added.
The minister said there are some positive changes in different criteria in the SSC results this year than the previous year as the number of examinees has increased by 1,01,241, the number of passed students has increased by 1,73,061 and also pass rate has increased by 4.43 percent in 10 educational boards.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now in London on an official visit, greeted the students who succeeded in examinations along with their guardians and teachers.
She also advised the students, who failed in the examinations, to take further preparation with patience and hard work as they could pass the next exams with good results, a press release of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) quoted her as saying.
Earlier the chairmen of all ten education boards handed over the results to the minister.
A total of 21, 27,815 students – 10, 68, 527 male and 10, 59, 288 female- appeared in the SSC and equivalent examinations this year under the 10 education boards.
Of them, 16,94,652 students appeared in the SSC examinations under the eight general educational boards while 306, 780 from Madrasah and 1,26,383 students from Technical Education Board sat for equivalent examinations, according to the results published here today.
Rajshahi Education Board has kept its consistency in securing the top position among 10 education boards with 91.64 percent pass rate in the SSC and equivalent examinations this year.
A total of 22,795 students secured GPA-5 under Rajshahi Board. The board had also secured the top position with 86.07 percent pass rate last year.
Like the previous years, Sylhet education board fell at the bottom in terms of pass rate and GPA-5 achievers. The board obtained 70.83 percent pass rate while just 2,757 students secured GPA-5 from the board.
The eight general education boards have obtained 82.80 percent pass rate while it was 79.40 percent last year.
Dhaka Board secured 79.62 percent pass rate, while it is 91.64 percent in Rajshahi Board, 87.16 percent in Cumilla Board, 90.88 percent in Jashore Board, 78.11 percent in Chattogram Board, 77.41 percent in Barishal, 70.83 percent in Sylhet Board, 84.10 percent in Dinajpur Board, 83.03 percent in Madrasah Board and 72.24 percent in Technical Education Board.

In terms of GPA-5 obtainers, Dhaka board secured the top position with 29,687 students achieving the highest grade point among the ten education boards.
In Rajshahi Board, a total of 22,795 students secured GPA-5, 8,764 in Cumilla Board, 9,948 in Jashore Board, 7,393 in Chattogram Board, 4,189 in Barishal Board, 2,757 in Sylhet Board, 9,023 in Dinajpur Board, 6,287 in Madrasah Board and 4,751 in Technical Education Board.
In 2018, the average pass rate was 77.77 percent as a total of 20,31,889 students, including 10,23,212 male and 10,08,687 female, appeared in the examinations.
In male-female comparison, the female students have outnumbered their male counterparts in terms of pass rate and obtaining of the maximum grade point average (GPA)-5 in this year’s SSC or equivalent examinations.
A total of 8,82, 224 female students passed the examinations with 83.28 percent success rate this year while the number of successful male students is 8,66,941 with 81.13 percent pass rate.
Female students are 2.15 percent ahead of their male counterparts in terms of pass rate.
A total of 53,484 female students secured GPA-5 while 52,110 male got the GPA-5 under the 10 educational boards this year.
The pass rate of female students was 78.85 percent last year while pass rate of male students was 76.71 percent.
Science Group students has kept its consistency in securing the top position in terms of group wise results among eight general education boards with 94.72 percent pass rate.
A total of 5,12,715 students of 5,41,323 from Science Group have passed the examination. Some 5,72,992 students out of 7,19,676 from Humanities Group came out successful in the examination while 3,17,450 students among 4,01,241 from Business Studies Group passed the examination.
A total of 389 students out of 423 from eight foreign centres have come out successful in the SSC examinations with 91.96 pc pass rate. Of the successful students, 56 have achieved GPA-5.
Like previous years, results can be known through sending SMS from any
mobile operator. To know the results, one will have to write in such way (SSC [space] first three letters of respective boards [space] and then have to write roll number [space] 2019) and send to 16222.
Besides, one can get results visiting websites of respective education boards.
