Online Desk : A mobile court has asked some 36 crew members of a Sundarban-14 launch to go for 14-day quarantine in the mid-river of Patuakhali district.

The mobile court, led by the district executive magistrate Amit Roy, passed the order on Thursday night. Magistrate Amit Roy said the order was given as per the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research (IEDCR) directives of quarantine for any Dhaka-returnee.

Assistant director of Patuakhali River Port Khwaja Sadikur Rahman has been assigned to look into the matter so that the quarantined people stay away from local people, Amit Roy added.

The launch supervisor Yunus told the media that they departed Dhaka for Patuakhali with the launch without any passenger as they could not stay anymore in the Buriganga River due to bad smell of the polluted water.

They will obey the district administration’s instruction for 14-day quarantine, he added.
