Bangladesh reports highest 665 new cases, 2 deaths

Online desk ; Bangladesh reported the highest 665 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours, taking the infected numbers to 9,455. Meanwhile, the death toll from COVID-19 stood at 177 with two more deaths during this period.

Directorate General of Health Services additional director general Prof Dr Nasima Sultana confirmed the matter on Sunday afternoon in the daily online bulletin on the coronavirus situation.

A total of 5,368 samples were tested in the past 24 hours where 665 patients found positive for the virus, she said.

Some 1,063 patients recovered from the disease till today. The deceased were from Narayanganj and Rangpur, aged about 11-20 and over 60.

Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) reported the first coronavirus case in the country on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
