Police, workers clash leave 35 injured in Bogura

Sherpur Police Station officer-in-charge Md Humayun Kabir said, “Two workers of Rawnak Spinning Mills locked in an altercation with the factory authorities as they attempted to join work without any identity cards with them on Wednesday night. Later, they scuffled with them over the matter.”
As the news of clash spread among other workers, they called demonstration in the factory area protesting the attack on their two fellows, he added.
The agitators also demanded due salaries of them. Being informed, police rushed to the spot and tried to bring the situation under control.
Agitated workers locked into clash with police several times from morning to noon which left 35 injured.
Police charged batons and fired rubber bullets as the agitators went out of control and threw brick bats on them.
Four members were beaten and injured by the workers during the clash. Later, workers and owners sat together and reached a consensus following the meeting. The situation of the area is now under control.
