Online Desk ; A total of 109 Indian citizens, who were stranded in Bangladesh due to the nationwide lockdown, returned to their country on Thursday through Akhaura Land Port.
Indian High Commissioner Riva Ganguly Das was present at the port to oversee their departure.
Brahmanbaria additional deputy commissioner Mitu Mariam, Akhaura upazila nirbahi officer Tahmina Akter Reina, assistant superintendent of police (Akhaura-Kasba Circle) Mizanur Rhaman, Samabaya Bank chairman Nesar Ahmed Chowdhury and Akhaura Police Station OC Rasul Ahmed Nizami, among others, were present during the departure of the Indian citizens.
Riva Ganguly Das asked all her fellow citizens to abide by health guidelines after returning to their homes to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
