Army goes tough in Cox’s Bazar ‘red zones’

Online desk : Bangladesh Army has adopted a ‘tougher’ position on controlling the coronavirus in the red zones of Chokoria municipal area and Dulahazra union of Cox’s Bazar.
Apart fron setting up check-posts on the main roads of red zone declared areas, the Army personnel strengthened the patrolling.

In the wake of growing number of coronavirus cases, Cox’s Bazar district administration has declared the municipality area of the town a ‘red zone’ for the first time and imposed lockdown from Saturday.

Meanwhile, Chokoria municipal area and ward 2,3 and 8 in Dulahazra union have been declared red zones on Sunday.

While visiting the area, our correspondent on Sunday witnessed the army personnel were patrolling different entry points of the tourist resort town.

They were seen examining the ID cards of those found moving outside due to emergency need and giving permission to move outdoor following the health guidelines. A temporary check-post has been set up on Lohagara-Chokoria border. The army personnel were seen disinfectant the goods-laden vehicles
