Bangladesh: Record 42 deaths, 2,735 test positive in one day

Online Desk : Surging fatalities in Bangladesh took the coronavirus death toll above 900 with 42 more deaths on Monday.Meanwhile, 2,735 fresh cases were reported in last 24 hours, taking the total number to 68,504.
The death tally now reached 930 in the country till today. Of the dead, 33 were male and nine were female. Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana confirmed the matter during daily online bulletin on coronavirus.
She urged everyone to stay at home and follow the health guidelines issued by the DGHS and World Health Organisation. She also requested people to use masks outdoor and wash hands with soap.
Some 657 more virus patients recovered in the past 24 hours across the country, raising the total recovery number to 14,560.
During this period, a total of 12,944 samples were tested. People should careful about children and pregnant woman at their family, Dr Nasima advised. A total of 297 people were put under isolation in the last 24 hours.
The confirmed COVID-19 cases have exceeded 7 million globally, with over 400,000 fatalities and more than three million recoveries, according to the latest tally from Johns Hopkins University.
