Ex-AL MP Badi tests COVID-19 positive

Online Desk ; Former Awami League lawmaker from Cox’s Bazar-4 constituency (Ukhia-Teknaf) of Jatiya Sangsad Abdur Rahman Badi, tested COVID-19 positive, the lawmaker confirmed in a video message on Friday.
The former lawmaker, who was taking treatment at a hospital in Cox’s Bazar, said in the message that he gave his swab samples for test on Thursday after he felt sickness several days ago. The coronavirus test result came in hands on Friday afternoon which showed that he tested corona positive.
Badi said he had been at a hospital in Cox’s Bazar for three days. After receiving coronavirus positive results, he headed for Dhaka on Friday night for better treatment.
Badi was elected as lawmaker from Cox’s Bazar – 4 constituency twice on ruling Awami League ticket. As the allegation of Badi’s involvement in yaba smuggling was raised, Awami League gave nomination to his wife Shahin Akter instead of him in the 2018 parliament election.
