Bangladesh records 37 more deaths, 1,475 new cases

Online Desk : Bangladesh on Saturday recorded 37 more fatalities from COVID-19 in last 24 hours, raising the total number to 1,425.

At the same time, 3,240 more virus cases were reported, taking the total infection case to 1,08,775, Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), confirmed the matter in the daily online bulletin on the COVID-19 situation in the afternoon.

She urged everyone to stay at home and follow the health guidelines issued by the DGHS and World Health Organisation. She also requested people to use masks outdoor and wash hands with soap.

A total of 14,031 samples were tested across the country in the past 24 hours.

Some 1,048 more coronavirus patients have recovered during this period. The total number of recovery reached 43,993.

People should careful about children and pregnant woman at their family, Dr Nasima advised.

Global situation

The confirmed coronavirus cases have exceeded 8.6 million globally, with over 459,437 fatalities and more than 4.2 million recoveries, according to the latest tally from Johns Hopkins University on Saturday.

According to the data, number of confirmed Covid-19 cases has reacehd 8,639,023.
