Coronavirus death toll surpasses 1,500 in Bangladesh

Online desk : The death toll from COVID-19 crossed 1,500 on Monday as 38 more deaths in last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the cases reached 1,15,786 as 3,480 more people have been infected with the deadly virus. Of the deceased, 33 were male and five were female.
Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), confirmed the matter in the daily online bulletin on the COVID-19 situation in the afternoon.
She urged everyone to stay at home and follow the health guidelines issued by the DGHS and World Health Organisation. She also requested people to use masks outdoor and wash hands with soap. In the past 24 hours, coronavirus testing laboratories across the country tested 15,555 samples.
Across the country, 1,678 more patients made recovery, taking the total number to 46,755. People should careful about children and pregnant woman at their family, Dr Nasima advised.
The confirmed coronavirus cases have crossed 8.9 million globally till this morning, according to the latest tally from Johns Hopkins University (JHU). So far, 467,636 fatalities have been reported globally while more than 4.4 million people recovered from the virus.
