Judge Ferdous Ahmed laid to rest in Jamalpur

Online Desk : Lalmonirhat District and Sessions Judge Ferdous Ahmed who died from Covid-19 on Wednesday night, was buried on Thursday in Jamalpur town.
He was buried at Central Municipal Graveyard in Jamalpur town at about 11:00am on Thursday after his namaj-e-janaza at Dewanpara Tennis Club ground.
The namaj-e-janaza was attended by Awami League organising secretary and former state minster Mirza Azam, Jamalpur District and Sessions Judge Md Zulfiqar Ali Khan and Chief Judicial Magistrate Rafiqul Islam, among others.
The judge breathed his last around 8:00pm on Wednesday at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka after testing Covid-19 positive a few days ago.
He was the first judge in the country who died from coronavirus infection. He hailed from Jamalpur district and is due to retire in November at the age of 58. As many as 26 judges have so far been infected with the deadly virus.
