Bangladesh reports 40 more virus deaths in 24 hrs

Meanwhile, the country saw 3,868 more cases from the virus during the period, said Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana at daily health bulletin this afternoon.
With the new figure, the total number of coronavirus affected people rose to 130,474. During this period, 18,498 samples were tested for coronavirus test where 3868 found positive. So far, 696,941 samples were tested for the virus throughout the country.
Some 1,638 more corona patients recovered in last 24 hours, Nasima Sultana said adding that a total of 53,133 people have recovered from the disease.Bangladesh reported its first case on March 8.
While briefing, Dr Nasima Sultana reiterated to maintain all health rules to control the coronavirus pandemic.
“Using masks, washing hands with soap, maintaining social distancing and avoiding public gatherings are must to help contain the deadly virus,” she added.
She said World Health organisation (WHO) reminded that if all the health rules are not maintained properly, the situation would become worse in the coming days.
