Country reports largest daily rise in fatalities with 64 deaths

Online Desk : Bangladesh has reported highest number of deaths in a single day from COVID-19. Sixty-four people died of coronavirus in last 24 hours till Tuesday afternoon while 3,682 infection cases were recorded after testing 18,426 samples.

Now, the death toll stood at 1,847 and cases at 1,45,483. Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana confirmed the figure at the daily bulletin this afternoon.

The death rate is now at 1.27 per cent and the current infection rate is 19.98 per cent. Of the deceased, 52 were male and 12 female. Dr Nasima laid emphasis on heath care of pregnant women and requested them to go outside without any reason.

They can take four pre-delivery services from their nearest health institutions. Some 1,844 COVID-19 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of recovery to 59,624.

Total 6,200 Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) have been distributed in the last 24 hours.
