Her namaj-e-janaza was held around 11am on Saturday on Banani mosque premises where the leaders and activists of Awami League and its associate organisations were present on limited scale to show their last respect.
After the janaza, the former Home Minister was buried at 11:45am.
A special flight of US Bangla Airlines, carrying the body of Sahara Khatun, reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 1:56am which left Bangkok airport for Dhaka at 9:30pm (Local Time).
She died at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, early Friday at the age of 77.
Sahara Khatun was admitted to the United Hospital on June 2 with fever and some old age complications. Before going to Thailand, she had been undergone treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital. Advocate Sahara Khatun elected MP thrice from Dhaka-18 constituency.
