ASI stabbed to death in Brahmanbaria by accused

Online desk : An assistant sub-inspector of police was stabbed to death and another injured while they went to arrest an accused of a case at Nabinagar upazila in Brahmanbaria district on Friday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as ASI Amir Hossain, 35, of Brahmanbaria Sadar Police Station.

According to police, ASI Amir Hossain and sub-inspector Monir Shankar in plainclothes went to a bridge at Chandpur village to arrest Mamun who is a warranted accused in a drug case in the afternoon. Both of them were stabbed by miscreants at that time and critically injured.

The duo was taken to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared Amir Hossain dead. Being, informed police officials rushed to the hospital.

Additional police was deployed after the incident and conducted raid in the village.
