Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) sources said, nearly 99, 695 hectares of land will be brought under Aman cultivation this season in all five upazilas of the district with production target of 3, 26, 644 metric tonnes of food grains.
Deputy Director of DAE, Panchagarh Abu Hanif told BSS that this year the weather is very conducive for Aman cultivation as the district is experiencing adequate rainfall which is benediction for the farmers.
DAE has disbursed quality Aman seed , fertilizers among the farmers at a free of cost in addition to imparting training to the farmers to keep abreast with the modern methods of Aman cultivation.
Besides, Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank and different NGOs have come up with the short term easy loan among the farmers for boosting production.
