‘BNP engaged in anti-state propaganda and spreading falsehood’

Online desk : Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader has alleged that the BNP was engaged in anti-state propaganda and spreading falsehood instead of playing responsible role during the coronavirus pandemic.
“The BNP stood against the country for staying against the government, It is spreading lies. For that reason, BNP is is completely detached from the people day by day,” he said.
Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, was addressing a virtual press briefing from his official residence in Dhaka on Sunday.
Expressing resentment against an Italy expatriate BNP leader’s recent comment over the number of virus infected people, The AL leader said, “Such false and fabricated information deseminated by the BNP leaders demean Bangladesh abroad.
He said, “The BNP leader had said 10 lakh people are infected with coronavirus in Bangladesh.Some 10,000 people are on way to Italy as there is no treatment for virus in the country. The entire nation including the Italy expatriates became irritated due to such false information.”
He also called on the authorities of country’s 16 specified Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) laboratories to issue reports within shortest possible time after collecting samples.
As per the new government rule, travellers going abroad from July 23-the day international flights to and from Hazrat Shahjalal Airport are slated to resume – will be required to produce a coronavirus test certificate before boarding their flight.
