Online Desk : Rangamati Parjatan Complex has been opened on a limited scale for visitors on Monday, after a 137-day closure due to coronavirus pandemic.

Srijon Bikash Barua, manager of the complex, said the decision to open the complex has been taken following discussion with the Rangamati Deputy Commissioner.

“The tourism complex was shut down on March 18 at the government directives. Rangamati Parjatan Corporation has incurred a loss of about Tk 1 crore,” he said.

Rangamati Parjatan Complex was opened to recoup the losses as tourists complexes in other places including in Cox’s Bazar and Chattogram have already been opened, Barua added.

DC AKM Mamunur Rashid the permission to open the complex was given on condition of strictly following the health guidelines and social distancing.

The district is one of the popular and attractive tourist spots.

Sajek Valley, Hanging Bridge, Kaptai Lake, Paulwell Park, Aranyak Peda Ting Ting and Subholong spring are the main tourists attraction in the district.
