Online Desk : Despite the fall in wholesale market, onion prices have risen in the retail market. Onion prices have increased by Tk 10 per kg.
Besides, the prices of ginger have also increased. Customers have alleged that the traders are charging Tk 40 more for per kg ginger in the retail market. Ginger is now being sold at Tk 200 in the retail market.
On the other hand, prices of vegetables have increased though the prices of Hilsa have declined.
Though the onion prices have suddenly increased by Tk 30 per kg, the prices have fallen by Tk 1 to Tk 2 in the wholesale market. There is no impact on the retail market though the prices have gone down in the wholesale market.
Besides, the prices of several essentials including edible oils, moog dal etc have increased in the retail market.
Meanwhile, the prices of Hilsa have increased by Tk 50 per kg. Besides, local varieties of fish have also gone up.
Compared to the last week, the prices of different types of vegetables like ladies finger, patal etc have increased, while the prices of rice, beef and mutton have remained unchanged.
