COVID-19: Recovery counts surpass 4 lakh

During this timeline, 32 new deaths were reported. Now, the death toll from COVID-19 reached 6,906.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, on Tuesday afternoon.
Health authorities also reported 2,571 more recoveries in a day, taking the total number of recoveries to 4,01,194.
In the last 24 hours, 137 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country collected 17,200 samples and tested 17,084 samples.
With this, a total of 28,94,622 samples were tested in the country.
Among the newly deceased, 25 were men and seven 15 women.
As of today, a total of 5,280men (76.45 per cent) and 1,626 women (23.55 per cent) died from COVID-19 in Bangladesh.
The infection rate is 12.89 per cent in the last 24 hours, compared to the samples tested, while the overall infection rate is 16.65 per cent.
So far, the recovery rate is 83.24 per cent and the mortality rate is 1.43 per cent.
Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus case on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
According to Worldometer’s COVID-19 data, the deadly virus has killed 15,52,301 people globally and infected 6,80,16,572 as of Saturday afternoon.
