Online desk : Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Friday said Bangladesh would be built as ‘Sonar Bangla’ by 2041 under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“With joint efforts of the country’s people, it is expected that Bangladesh will become ‘Sonar Bangla’, as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, under the leadership of his daughter Sheikh Hasina by 2041,” he said.
Hasan, also the Awami League joint general secretary, made the remarks while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the newly-elected committee of Junior Chamber International-JCI, Bangladesh at a city hotel this evening, a ministry press release said.
Speaking as the chief guest, he said Bangladesh was a country of food deficiency in 2008, but now it achieved sufficiency in food under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“Under the skilled leadership of the Bangabandhu’s daughter, we are the first in South Asia and the 20th in the world in effectively dealing with coronavirus,” Hasan said.
About the role of youth in building a nation, the information minister said the immense energy of youth is always very important to keep the pace of the country’s unprecedented progress smooth.
Prime Minister’s special assistant Barrister Shah Ali Farhad, newly-elected JCI president Niaz Morshed Elite, vice-president Imran Qadir and chairman of Fortune Shoes Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, among others, spoke on the occasion.
