Online desk ; Newly-elected mayor of Basurhat Pourasava Abdul Quader Mirza on Saturday called on Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader.
Abdul Quader Mirza arrived at Awami League central office at 23, Bangabandhu Avenue in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon to meet Obaidul Quader, who is also his elder brother.
It was learnt that Quader Mirza called on Obaidul Quader after he was elected Basurhat Pourasava mayor on January 16 last. He was accompanied by Companyganj upazila chairman and local party leaders.
Following an hour-long meeting, Quader Mirza came out of the Awami League office.
After his victory in the pourasava election, Quader Mirza observed a hunger strike protesting the remarks of Noakhali District Awami League general secretary Ekramul Karim Chowdhury MP for “criticising Obaidul Quader.”
Regarding the Saturday’s courtesy meeting between Obaidul Quader and his younger Mirza Quader, the minister’s public relations officer Walid Fayyaz said Abdul Quader Mirza mainly came to Dhaka for a courtesy meetinng with Obaidul Quader.
