“The terrible Bangabazar inferno made the country’s people shocked. The flames of the merciless fire burned the well-furnished dreams of businessmen and employees to ashes,” he said in a statement issued to condemn and protest the provocative speech of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said people from different classes and professions of the society have stood by the fire victims.
“Everyone is trying to help them within their capacity. But, even such a terrible incident could not jolt the sentiments of BNP,” he said.
The AL general secretary said the sentiments of the BNP leaders, who are blind for power, have become dull and that’s why, without standing by fire victims, they are doing ill-politics through provocative statements over the fire incident.
He said a probe body was formed to find out the reason behind this terrible incident and the probe committee has been asked to submit its report as soon as possible.
The probe body will investigate the cause behind the fire and prepare a list of victims apart from estimating the amount of damage in the fire, Quader said.
Quader said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina instructed the authorities concerned to probe the incident quickly and neutrally.
“We strongly want to say that legal action would be taken against any person or group found responsible for this horrible incident,” he warned.
