Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain on Tuesday made a courtesy call on Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Choudhury.
He apprised the Speaker about the date and time of the swearing ceremony, said a press release.
Senior officials of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat were present.
The tenure of the present President Md Abdul Hamid will come to an end on April 23.
Earlier on February 12, the ruling Awami League submitted two nomination papers in favour of Md Shahabuddin for the post of president. After scrutinising the nomination papers on February 13, the Election Commission declared one of the nomination papers legal. So, there was no need to collect and submit another nomination form. As Md Shahabuddin was the sole candidate, a gazette notification was issued on that day declaring him as the new president.
