Online Desk : Two persons were arrested by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-4 on Friday from Ashulia in Savar while carrying banned phensidyl syrup on an ambulance.
They were detained at Bolibhadra area in Ashulia on Friday. A total of 293 bottles of phensidyl were seized from their possession.
RAB-4 CPC-2 company commander Lt Col Rakib Mahmud Khan confirmed the matter.
The arrested were Karimul Islam, 32 and Nooor Mohammad, 28 from Lalmonirhat.
RAB-4 said the arrested persons have long been bringing phensidyl from different parts of the country to the capital illegally. Then they delivered those phensidyl to different dealers and retailers in Dhaka.
They were handed over to police station concerned after filing of a case under the Liquor and Narcotics Control Act against them.
