Import, export through Benapole-Petrapole land ports resume

Online Desk : Export-important activities between India and Bangladesh have resumed on Saturday morning by road after 75 days of suspension.

The administrations of the two countries and business leaders took the decision at a meeting held at Zero Point area on Thursday.

The truck drivers will be tested for coronavirus before they cross into the border. The trucks would be able to leave the border areas on the same day after unloading goods.The import and export activities through the Benapole and Petrapole land ports suspended on March 23 due to coronavirus pandemic.

Trade between India and Bangladesh by road has remained suspended for a long time as the West Bengal’s state government had not given permission for trading between the two countries though the India’s central government gave the approval of import and export trading between the two countries.
