Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar today said the government is working to raise the export earnings from ICT goods to US$ 7 billion by 2023.
“We are optimistic to achieve the target which was set for 2021 within the
stipulated time. Government is working relentlessly to launch fast track
service for the foreign investors to ensure quick and hassle free service for
them in country’s ICT sector,” he said.
Jabbar came up with the observations while addressing a function organised
for signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Bangladesh Investment
Development Authority (BIDA) and Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and
Governance (LICT) project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) at its
auditorium in capital’s ICT Tower.

Hossain signed the MoU for their respective organisations.
State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak, BIDA Executive Chairman
Qazi M Aminul Islam, ICT Division Secretary Zuena Aziz and LICT component
team leader Summy Ahmed addressed the programme, among others.
“We have to start work from right now by setting short, middle and long term goal to attract foreign investors. We can work to resolve five obstacles in investment as part of the short term activities,” Palak said, adding, “We
can organise Hackathon like earlier to get the result in this regard.”
