Brazilian Ambassador in Dhaka Joao Tabajara de Oliveira Junior today said the Latin American country wants to strengthen the mutual relationship with Bangladesh and wants to become its development partner.
The Brazilian envoy said these while paying a courtesy call on
Agriculture Minister Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque at latter’s secretariat office
here in the capital.
“We can utilize the possibilities in our agriculture sector and can
identify the new horizon of cooperation. We can make much progress in the
agriculture sector by exchanging the ideas,” he said.
Agriculture Minister Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque too emphasized on exchanging
mutual ideas on agriculture, saying this will further strengthen the
friendship between the two countries.
“Our government has given priority to ensure the availability of
nutritious and safe food and working relentlessly in this regard. Brazil can
help us by providing technology for food processing and raising an industry
based on agriculture,” he said.
The minister welcomed Brazilian investment in Bangladesh, saying; now
the political situation here is much better than any other time and the
government is committed to maintain this.
Praising the quality of ready-made garments made in Bangladesh, the
Brazilian envoy said the quality is much rich than any other country, adding,
“Brazil is a big buyer of Bangladesh’s garment product.”
The Brazilian envoy said Bangladesh is the first country to send cows to Brazil, which has become one of the main resources of his country.
