Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said the commitment of her party in the election manifesto ‘Amar Gram- Amar Shohar’ is aimed at ensuring all urban facilities for rural people to give them a better life.
“Our aim is to develop every village where they will enjoy all facilities to
have a decent life,” the prime minister said adding that under the programmes
each and every people will enjoy the benefits of development.
The prime minister said this while replying to a question from treasury bench
member Mahfuzur Rahman (Chottagram-3) during Prime Minister’s Question-Answer
Session in the parliament today with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Choudhury in
the chair.
Sheikh Hasina said her government would make a time befitting plan to
implement the ‘Amar Gram- Amar Shohar’ vision. Many components of the plan
have already been included in the 7th five year plan and long term perspective
plan, she said.
Sheikh Hasina said her government would create the civic amenities of urban
areas for rural people which would include access to electricity, expansion of
trade and business, development of all modes of communication, planned housing
and sewerage system, pure drinking water, healthcare facilities and coverage
of Internet and technology based communication.
The prime minister said her government is striving to ensure basic rights of
people and build every village beautifully. Every village would have the fire
and civil defence services, she said.
Sheikh Hasina said her government has taken plan to set up 100 special economic zones in different parts of the country to create investment and employment opportunities. Thus people would get scope to make their life
prosperous, she added.
