Collective efforts of all authorities concerned including the local government institutions is very important for
making the service-delivery activities in Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) patient-friendly.
There is no way but to improvement of services of the hospital for
betterment of the people in general as many of the common people especially
the poor and marginally are totally dependent on it.
The observation came in the RMCH’s managing committee meeting at its
conference hall in the city yesterday. The meeting devised ways and means on
how to improve services of RMCH.
Chaired by the committee president Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, the meeting
was attended and addressed, among others, by Principal of Rajshahi Medical
College Prof Nawshad Ali, RMCH Director Brig Gen Jamilur Rahman, city unit
senior vice-president of Awami League Shaheen Akter Rainy, district unit BMA
President Prof AB Siddiqui and central committee president of Swadhinota
Chikitsok Parishad Dr Tabibur Rahman Sheikh.
Lawmaker Badsha stressed the need for enhancing the number of bed in
Intensive Care Unit and Coronary Care Unit and introduction of other
emergency units for widening area of the service-delivery activities.
He added doctors and others concerned should be more sincere and wholehearted in this regard. Emphasis should be given on making all the administrative and management activities including the services of doctors, nurses, medical technologists and others concerned transparent and accountable so that the patients could derive total benefits of the hospital.
