Director General (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Benazir Ahmed today said intensified security measures have been taken ahead of the Bishwa Ijtema and there is no fear of any untoward incidents.
“We have taken all-out security measures to hold the Biswa Ijtema peacefully and there is nothing to fear ahead of the congregation,” he told journalists about preparation of the event in city’s Karwan Bazar area.
Referring to the infighting between the two groups of Ijtema devotees, the DG of the elite force said the dispute was settled after a series of discussion. He hoped that all will respect the rules and conditions.
He also issued a note of warning for the troublemakers saying, “None will go with impunity”.
Benazir urged all to remain alert so that no third party can create any anarchy on the Ijtema venue on the bank of the Turag river at Tongi.
