Academics at a fresher’s’ reception function held at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) today called upon the students to timely complete their curriculum with utmost dedication.
“The students should engage themselves with innovative knowledge to develop them for development of the country and the nation,” Vice-chancellor of BRUR Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah said while addressing the function as the chief guest.
The BRUR authority organised the function to accord reception to the newly admitted first year (honours) students of the 2018-2019 academic sessions and launch their academic classes for all 21 departments under six faculties of the university.
Dean of the faculty of Engineering and Technology Professor Dr Abu Kalam Md. Farid Ul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Arts Professor Dr. Parimal Candara Barman, Professor Dr Md. Morshed Hossain, Professor Dr. Nazmul Islam, Registrar Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal, heads of different departments and teachers were present.
Earlier, the Vice-chancellor greeted the newly admitted students of all 21 departments with flowers welcoming them in the university.
The speakers called upon the newly admitted students for studying with utmost sincerity and education to properly flourish their talents to serve the nation with patriotic zeal and wished their colourful, joyous, loving and successful future.
Welcoming the newly admitted students, the Vice-chancellor suggested them for nurturing the spirit of Begum Rokeya, conducting more research on her and following her ideals to become worthy citizens in the society.
“The students, youths and young generations should have to acquire modern education and knowledge to become enlightened citizens for leading the nation to build a middle income nation by 2021 and a developed Bangladesh by 2041,” he said.
