Rangpur Range of Bangladesh Police today awarded its eight personnel and five organisations with medals in recognition of their professional excellence in discharging duties.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for Rangpur Range Police Devdas Bhattacharya distributed the awards at the monthly crime, law and order assessment meeting for February-2019 held at his conference room in the city.
He distributed the medals and certificates among the police personnel and organisations of all eight districts under Rangpur Range Police for laudable performances in handling crimes and maintaining peaceful law and order situation.
Superintendent of Police for Lalmonirhat SM Rashidul Haque received the best organisational award on behalf of Lalmonirhat district police.
Lalmonirhat district police, Sadar Circle of Nilphamari district police, Dimla Thana in Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat Traffic police unit and Rangpur Traffic police unit were awarded as the organisation for best performances.
The awarded eight police personnel are Sub-Inspector (SI) Imran Khan of Gaibandha Sadar Thana, SI Emad Uddin Md Faruk Feroz of Syedpur Thana in Nilphamari, SI Monirul Haque and ASI Shawkat Alam of Gobindaganj Thana in Gaibandha, Inspector (Investigation) Sohel Rana of Dimla Thana in Nilphamari, SI Ashutosh Sarker of Gobindaganj Thana in Gaibandha and Constables Jahangir Alam and Shaharul Islam of Kaliganj Thana in Lalmonirhat districts.
Additional DIG (Admin and Finance) Md Mazid Ali, Superintendents of Police from Rangpur, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Dinajpur and Gaibandha districts and other police officials were present on the occasion.
The DIG directed police officials to remain alert to curb crimes, drug trafficking, drug abuse, militancy and terrorism for maintaining law and order and extending legal assistance to common people in a hassle-free manner.
