Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdullah Bin H. M. Al-Mutairi paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Jatiya Sangsad Office here this evening. After the meeting, PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed the reporters.
The prime minister congratulated the Saudi ambassador for successfully completing four-year tenure in Bangladesh. She told the ambassador that he can think Bangladesh as his own country. Pointing out the historical relations between the two countries, Sheikh Hasina said Saudi Arab has a “special place” in the hearts of Bangladeshis.
The prime minister recalled her visits to Saudi Arabia for four times during the tenure of the ambassador and thanked him for playing a key role in arranging the trips. Sheikh Hasina conveyed her complements to Saudi King and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The Saudi ambassador thanked the prime minister for extending cooperation during his tenure in Bangladesh. Expressing satisfaction over the existing bilateral relations between the two countries, Al-Mutairi said the relationship reached to a new height and it will continue to grow from strength to strength. The envoy informed the prime minister that he is going to discharge his responsibility as the new ambassador in Georgia.
PM’s Principal Secretary Md Nojibur Rahman, Military Secretary Major General Mia Mohammad Zainul Abedin and Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Golam Mosih were present on the occasion.
