A team of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has recovered 53,840 kilograms of government rice from a private food industrial complex today, ACC officials said. On a tip-off, an ACC team conducted a sudden raid in Messer’s Chowdhury Food Industrial Complex at BSCIC Industrial Estate and found 1,356 sacks of rice belonging to the Department of Food stockpiled there, said Jahangir Alam, Deputy Director of ACC, Rajshahi office.
Three persons, Humayun Kabir, Abul Hossain and Kawsar Ali, are the owners of the complex. However, they were not present at the time of recovery of the rice from the complex this afternoon.
