Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) disbursed Taka 59.70 lakh as incentive among 3,000 small and marginal farmers in the district for cultivating wheat this Robi season. Additional Deputy Director of DAE (Crops) Md Nuruzzaman said after getting incentive farmers have already started sowing wheat seed in their field.
Under the programme, a farmer got 20-kilogram wheat seed, 20-kilogram DAP fertiliser and 10-kilogram of MOP fertiliser for cultivation one bigha of land.
Of the total, 500 farmers got incentive for cultivating wheat in Sadar upazila, 500 farmers in Islampur, 500 farmers in Dewanganj, 300 farmers in Sarishabari, 450 farmers in Melandaha, 400 farmers in Bakshiganj and 350 farmers in Madarganj upazila.
