Man gets 3-month jail for harassing college girl in Panchagarh

Online Desk : A mobile court here on Tuesday sentenced a man to three months jail for harassing a college girl in Atwari upazila.

The convict Biplob Rana, 32, is the son of late Abdur Rashid of Debipur village in Sadar upazila and excavator driver of upazila mahila vice chairman Renu Akhter.
Ezar Uddin, officer-in-charge of Atwari Police Station, said that Biplob riding on a motorcycle followed the college girl on Boda-Atwai upazila road on her way to college on the day. The man tried to harass the girl when she reached Kismat Roseya area.

Hearing scream of the girl, locals rushed in and caught him.

However, at one stage he managed to flee from the spot. Later, police with the help of the local people detained him from Kismat Roseya area.

On information, a team of mobile court led by executive magistrate and also Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sharmin Sultana went to the spot and sentenced the man to three-month jail, said the OC.
