Additional District an Session Judge Md Anwarul Haque handed down the verdict to Moslem Uddin, 58, Mostafizur Rahman Bulbul, 40, Mamunur Rashid Milon, 35, and Sohel Rana Babu, 30. All of them are hailed from Mirzapur Khaerbari village in the upazila. Among the convicts, Sohel Rana Babu got life-term imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, the convicts killed Wakil Uddin by sharp weapons at Mirzapur Khaerbari village over a land dispute on June 25 in 2011.
Following the murder, Wakil Uddin’s wife filed a case accusing eight people. On September 25 in 2011, police pressed the chargesheet accusing six people.
Testifying witnesses and evidences, the court gave the order in presence of four convicts. Rest of the criminals, one died and another one is at large. The court also fined the convicts Taka 10000 each.
