During the meeting, the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bangladesh this month for attending the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman came under discussed.
“Various issues of bilateral interests and sub-regional connectivity have been prominently discussed at the meeting,” said PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim while briefing the media after the meeting.
Sheikh Hasina gave an overview of the preparations relating to celebration of the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation.
About precautionary measures to prevent Coronavirus, the premier said that Bangladesh has already dedicated a hospital to treat Coronavirus affected patients.
“If anyone falls prey to Coronavirus, he or she will be shifted to the dedicated hospital for treatment,” she said.
The premier also conveyed her greetings to her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.
Indian Foreign Secretary Shringla lauded Bangladesh’s “astonishing successes” in improving socio-economic indices from infant mortality to women’s education and from primary health to literacy.
He also appreciated the advancement of readymade garment of Bangladesh.
PM’s Principal Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen, Bangladeshi High Commissioner to India Muhammad Imran and Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das were present.
