In a circular, the public agency said the government has made mandatory staying 14 days in quarantines for the returnees from abroad and those who come in contact with them and COVID-19 patients.
It asked the returnees to inform their present respective positions to the local administration and the health authorities.
People have been asked not to get contacted with those who are in quarantines. The quarantined people must stay at a single room of their respective homes, while the commoners have been requested to cooperate with the authorities concerned in the regard, it said.
If anyone violates the instructions, he or she could be sentenced with jail or penalty under the Communicable Diseases Prevention, Control and Eradication Act, 2018, the circular said.
The DGHS also requested to follow the health guidelines and avoid public gatherings to help the government contain the spread of coronavirus.
If necessary, the IEDRC will collect blood samples from suspected COVID-19 patients by going to their homes, the circular said.
