The other officials are Senior Assistant Commissioner Nazim Uddin, Assistant Commissioner Rintu Bikash Chakma and Assistant Commissioner SM Rahatul Islam.
A show cause notice has also been served on them asking why they should not be suspended temporarily. They have been given 10 days to reply the notice. Public Administration Ministry secretary Sheikh Yusuf Harun said, “A departmental case has been filed against the four. A show cause notice has also served on them as part of the departmental proceedings. What will be their next punishment depends on it.”
A district mobile court sentenced Bangla Tribune Kurigram correspondent Ariful to one year imprisonment in a drug case, soon after picking him up from his residence.
The court awarded him the jail term on charge of possessing half a bottle of liquor and 150 grams of hemp from his house.
