Online Desk : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday urged the countrymen to offer Taraweeh prayers at home during the month of Ramadan to contain the spread of coronavirus.
The Premier came up with the call while exchanging views with the deputy commissioners and officials of nine districts under Dhaka division through videoconferencing from her official residence Ganobhaban..
“You see, Saudi Arabia has suspended congregational prayers and even Taraweeh at mosques. Many other countries have also suspended prayers at mosques, temples and churches. The reason behind is for ensuring self protection as well for others,” she said.
She went on : “We can learn from this, pray at home instead of going to mosque. Seek Allah’s blessings directly, it is to be done sitting anywhere.”
“The situation in our country is still under control than that of others as we took initiatives from the beginning. People should cooperate the government to control coronavirus situation. They should stop moving to curb the spread of the virus infection,” Sheikh Hasina added.
