The arrested were Sharif Hossain, 26, son of Alauddin of village Mirzakhali under Borhanuddin upazila in Bhola district; Arif Hossain, 24, of Md Quddus of the same village; Sohel Rana, 33, son of Hazrat Ali of village Hatluxmiganj under Sadar upazila in Munshiganj district; and Rajib Hossain, 25, son of Mokhlesur Rahman of village Sumitra under Kalkini upazila in Madaripur district. Besides, 465 bottles of Phensidyl were seized from them.
The RAB-5 company commander ATM Mainul Islam said the four persons including the drivers and helpers, were arrested when they were smuggling out phensidyl on two cement-laden trucks.
During the drive, a truck were seized along with 465 bottles of phensidyl and 260 sacks of cement.
A case was filed against the accused under the Special Powers Act with Godagari Model Police Station.
