Online Desk : Police detained two young men and recovered a huge amount of local weapons in Sonaimuri upazila of Noakhali early Saturday.
The detainees were Abu Yusuf Javed, 20, of Kaluia village, and Md Sabbir Hossain, 22, of Uttar Shaktola village in the upazila. Police raided Sabbir’s house in Saktola area around 1:30 am and detained the duo.
Police also recovered three LGs, bullets, five Chinese axes, a sword and 18 machetes. On May 17, a group of miscreants hacked a man indiscriminately. They also attacked on police’s vehicle as the police went to the place, leaving a policeman injured.
Police detained Javed and Sabbir from the area on Friday afternoon. Gleaning information from them, police recovered the weapons from Sabbir’s kitchen. Sonaimuri Police Station officer in-charge Abdus Samad confirmed the matter.
