Online Desk : The Nigerian government has collected Remdesivir, Remivir drugs and some samples of personal protective equipment from Bangladesh. Both the drugs and equipment were produced in Bangladesh.
Geoffrey Onyeama, Nigerian foreign affairs minister, earlier on June 6 requested for the drugs to his Bangladeshi counterpart, AK Abdul Momen, for the treatment of a governor who had tested positive for COVID-19 recently.
A chartered Nigerian airoplane from Abuja landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 5:00pm Sunday to collect the drugs.
The authorities also collected some samples of the drugs, PPEs and some medical equipment, as they wanted to import the items from Bangladesh accessing their effectiveness, said a press release.
