For example, Nuvista Pharma Ltd manufacture the drug under the brand name of ‘Oradexon’ (Dexamethasone 5mg/1ml ampoule, 10 ampoules pack, maximum retail price Tk 220), while Aristopharma Ltd produces the drug under the brand name of ‘Sonexa’ (10 ampoules pack, maximum retail price Tk 130) and Acme Laboratories Ltd produce it under the brand name of ‘Steron’ (Dexamethasone 0.5mg/tablet, 100 tablets, Tk 45).
There are other companies which manufacture Dexamethasone drug under different brand names. For instance, Medimet Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Rephco Laboratories Ltd, Jayson Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Chemist Laboratories Ltd, Pharmadesh, Renata, Ibn Sina, Ziska Pharmaceuticals Ltd, and Ganashasthya produce the drug under the brand names of ‘Dexam, Dexamet, Dexamin, Dexan, Dexasone, Dexatab, Dexon, Dextason, G-Dexamethasone, Gludex, Meradexon etc.
Doctors usually prescribe the drug for endocrine disorders, rheumatic disorders, collagen diseases, dermatologic diseases, allergic states, ophthalmic diseases, gastrointestinal diseases etc.
