“Chinese researchers have been working to develop a COVID-19 vaccine while they appeared to have reached in an advanced stage of their reseach. The Chinese government has assured us of sending the vaccine on priority basis,” said the minister.

The minister expressed his optimism while addressing a media briefing at the VIP Lounge of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday before the Chinese team left Dhaka.
Replying to a question, the Health minister informed that 2,000 more physicians would be recruited if the number of infections continues to rise.
Regarding the Chinese medical team’s Dhaka visit, he said,”The Chinese team has expressed satisfaction over our role in tackling the COVID-19 situation. But, they also informed the government that Bangladesh has the scope in developing some areas to tackle the coronavirus pandemic. We’ll also work with the identified areas in future.”
