Online desk : Bangladesh Medical Research Council has approved the trial of a COVID-19 vaccine developed by Chinese Sinovac company.
Research organisation ICDDR,B will conduct the phase 3 trial in Bangladesh, informed Mahmud Uz Zaman, Director of the BMRCH.
He said initially, the clinical trial of the vaccine is likely to be held in 7/8 coronavirus-dedicated government hospitals.
” Beijing had sought permission to conduct a trial of the Chinese vaccine in Bangladesh. The national committee on coronavirus has given the approval,”said the Director of the country’s regulatory body for medical research .
The second phase trial of the China-developed vaccine has already been conducted and preparations of the third phase test is underway.
