Several books, leaflets, magazine and mobile phone sets with digital content were recovered during the drive.
The arrested JMB members are Omar Farooq Rubel alias Sunny, 28, from Rajshahi, Habibur Rahman alias Badsha, 48, Saidur Rahman, 55, Mahbubur Rahman alias Dudu, 55, Shafiqul Islam Shafiq, 38, and Golam Mostafa, 51, from Jamalpur.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the RAB-4 raided a rented house at Bhatpara area and nabbed the six.
The RAB sources said Omar Farooq, a madrasa teacher, learned the use of encrypted software and mobile applications and, later, using those, he maintained communication with the outfit.
Arrested Mostafa also allegedly provided arms for the murder of Jamalpur’s Gani Gomez, who left Islam and converted to Christianity in 2014.
Habibur Rahman has been leading JMB members in Ghoradhap area under Sadar Police Station in Jamalpur for the last 10 years. He and his associates had been secretly conducting activities in the area.
Saidur Rahman has been providing financial assistance to mentally weak members to keep them motivated.
Mahbubur Rahman regularly distributed various books and magazines of militancy among JMB members.
RAB-4 Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Sajedul Islam Sajal said the arrested members would be handed over to Savar Model Police Station after legal procedure.
