Online Desk : Customs officials detained a passenger with 5.2 kilograms of gold biscuits worth Tk 3.12 crore at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Saturday (July 25).
Dhaka Customs House Deputy Commissioner (Preventive) Marufur Rahman said they found the gold biscuits inside the luggage of passenger Ismail Hossain Sarkar who came from Jeddha in Saudi Arabia.
The customs authorities said at one stage of the vigilance at different points of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, they searched passenger Ismail Hossain Sarker who arrived by BG-4136 flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Jeddha at about 12:00noon. After scanning, they found 32 gold biscuits inside two juicer machines and two digital sound boxes’ batteries which were kept hidden.
Legal action would be taken according to the Customs rules, said Marufur Rahman.
